17 Rules for Protesting Safely
Some times you need to go towards the danger.

Self defense is Usually about trying to; avoid, create space, buy time or de-escalate. But sometimes an issue so important arises that you need to go to the place where danger might happen. So, if you, like me are planning on joining the PEACEFUL protests. Here are some basic guidelines for protesting to keep yourself as safe as possible, when doing a potentially dangerous, yet important thing.
1.Obey lawful police orders, If you don’t they may react with force a lot faster now than before
2.Stay away from the shit disturbers, not everyone is here for change some just want to take advantage of a bad situation.
3.Don’t Run, walk in the march, people who run trip, people who trip get trampled.
4.Bring eye protection, just in case.
5.Don’t throw things! I repeat do not throw stuff…this is by no means peaceful
6.Don’t break shit, and if you see other breaking shit refer to number 2
7.Disable bio metric functions on your phone (Face ID, Fingerprint scanners), have a pass code and lock out all your social media apps and email.
8.When messaging use an end to end encrypted messenger app for anything sensitive.
9.Write important contact numbers on your body, if a cell phone is taken or smashed most of us have ZERO numbers memorized.
10.Don’t geo tag your location or time stamp anything if you are documenting this event.
11.I highly recommend leaving when it gets dark. People feel far more anonymous in the dark, so they tend to do and get away with more.
12.If you are arrested, (and this is a REAL possibility, so don’t be shocked) comply and keep your word hole closed.
Sub section: If you are gassed:
1.Chemical agents are heavier than air, they collect in low lying areas, so get as elevated as you can
2.When gaining elevation also get up wind of the agent
3.If gassed, cover your airway, and rinse the eyes with water
4.If gassed do not rub your face, eyes, or skin, try, and let any wind blow off what is on you.
5.When home take a COLD shower, and bag and toss your clothes, you wont ever be able to wear those again.
I truly hope this situation gets better as fast as possible. It is insane watching this happen. If you have decided to be the change, please follow these guidelines, and stay as safe as you possibly can in these interesting times,
Lastly please don't forget this movement is happening during a global pandemic, Covid-19 rules still apply
